odd question about monitor colour display

a bit of an odd question for you , i think:

while changing the background colour to my desktop from blue to black
i was told to "please wait" while it changed the colour. as i wa
waiting, the whole monitor except for the "please wait" box went blac
and white. you know, i actually kind of liked it. it wouldn't be bad t
work in black and white from time to time for a change.

is there a way to get windows to do this

First - it was Windows that did the black-n-white fade. Nothing to do with
your monitor.

I don't know of any theme (personally) out there that will make everything
black & white. I personally would find that dull after a while and many
things would lose their emphasis - and sometimes that is needed.

hi

thanks for your response. i agree it would be pretty dull in the long
term. the idea was just for a time-to-time change. i play a lot of
poker online and focus is important. with all the stats i use and
stuff, the screen can get pretty busy. i was thinking it might make
things easier to not lose focus on the game itself and not be
disctracted by the busy-ness on the screen. the biggest problem for me
will be hearts that look like spades etc. a 1 colour deck will be
trickier to catch flushes. thats a big downside for me.

anyways, its not a big deal AT ALL.. i was just playing around with the
idea and was wondering about if it's possible.

i have yet to play around with my monitor setting to see if i can
replicate black and white made by windows.

but just wanted to post back to say thanks for even responding to my
inquiry.
