odd monitor problem

Hi folks. Odd and annoying monitor problem going on here. It
spontaniously blinks off and then right back on again. Even more odd is it
also does this when I right click on a file to access the properties.
Could this simply be a failing crt tube or an incorent bios setting?

We are a dealer and it's usually the CRT going bad when that happens.
You could try it on a different computer just to be sure.

An interruption of the display on a CRT monitor can be due to several
things, including the tube itself. One such cause could be a bad data
cable or connection to the video signal. Others could be a bad solder
connection in the monitor that is effected by the heat build up in it.
Rarely is the cause the video card or the software being used, but there
are NO absolutes.

The biggest problem with intermittent problems is that they are often
associated with benign actions. Since it only takes a slight vibration
of a monitor and cable to cause such a problem if it is due to poor
connections, it is easy to see how one can connect the action to the
failure. Try another monitor to establish if it is indeed the monitor,
and go from there.
