Try mailwasher pro...

The spam doesn't have to go to your mailbox first, then be filtered. With
this product, you can delete the spam first at the mail server. Then
download your remaining email.
Have been using it for 2 years. Allows either a 40 line glimpse or all of
it. Not shown on the web page above. Considers all as text, so a virus
insertion is of no consequence. Also indicates if there is a file
attachment, not shown on the webpage either.

As far as the text you've quoted, they're simply trying to bypass filters,
and getting the nonsense in your mailbox. No purpose beyond that.

About 70% of my email (from my ISP acct, not a web based acct) is made
up of messages like the example below:

"English crumbs in it than were to be expected in a foreign wine in
anything like a pure state
began to lay the cloth for my dinner in a box by the fire While he was
so engaged
that out of the way woman with the savagest of names said my aunt
rubbing her nose for she"

Can anyone tell me what the people putting these things out are hoping
to accomplish?

Thanks,
Bob

Many SPAM filters try to statistically evaluate the message using the
frequency of words etc, and by avoiding common spam words the sender is
hoping to get around the filter.

In other words if the message is short and contains some known word it's
more likely to get stopped than a longer message containing the word since
that word = a greater percentage of the content in the shorter message.

Now that your email address has appeared in a newsgroup (which are regularly
harvested by spammers) look for a dramatic increase in Spam to your yahoo
account (which I presume is one you don't care much about).

By the way the above is vastly over simplified, try using Google to search
for "Bayesian Filter" or similar.

They do it to annoy you. Create a filter to delete the message
automatically. If you need assistance with this, repost in the
proper newsgroup, stating exactly which version of Outlook /
Outlook Express / Other you use.

There are loads of spam going around these days, JUst Filter them or Ignore
them!
Good Luck

Use a disposable email address for websites and such. This way when the
get sold and published you can diss it and get another.

It's a secret code meant for a spy cell somewhere..

Indeed it is... fortunately I have my Klingon universal translator at
