Odd delay

When the Windows is starting up there is an odd delay in the end.
All the other programs have started (antivirus, etc) but then comes the
delay. It takes about 30s after which the ZoneAlarm starts up. There is no
activity at all, it just waits for something.

I can not even start up the internet connection during the "odd delay"?

What could cause this and how to remove it?

Check your System & Application Event Logs for any error(s).
You could have a Service time-out occurring that would account
for the delay. Otherwise, use MSConfig.Exe to see what your
system is starting.
