ODBC - insert on a linked table failed. Read Only issue? Access 2.

We are having trouble updating an Oracle table through MS Access. We
recently switched from 2000 to 2003. It is a shared database, and sometimes
it works, but one person continually gets the error:
ODBC - insert on a linked table 'tablename' failed...
[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-01456:may not perform insert/delete/update operation
inside a READ ONLY transaction (#1456)
We have unchecked the "read-only configuration" setting in System DSN.
Users have full Oracle rights to the table. This has only been a problem in
2003.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
