ODBC Data Source Connection Problem

I am trying to link tables from Access 2003 using an ODBC Data Source. When
I click on Files -->Get External Data -->Link Tables the Link dialog box
comes up as it should. However, as soon as I enter "ODBC Databases" from the
"Files of type" drop down menu, the Link dialog box disappears. Does anyone
know what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

If you use Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the Office Plug-in. You'll find
the Office Plug-in under 'Miscellaneous' in the Norton AntiVirus options.

I am having the same problem. I have Norton Systemworks and Norton Internet
Security and cannot find the option you stated. Thanks

This was one of my issues. Thanks!!
Another one is that I am on a Vista machine using a Transoft Windows ODBC
driver and I am getting this error:

Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 1114(Transoft
Windows ODBC Driver). (#160)

Is there anything that you could suggest?

We figured out the problem. Turns out there was a bug in that particular
version of mysql so we had to go out to their website and download a patch to
fix it.
