Help Please - - I have Access 2003 and am trying to link to an ODBC database
and when selecting New - Link Table the link box appears. When I select ODBC
databases the box immediately closes - "LINK" does not become active. I do
have an ODBC data base configrued in my System DNS data sources.

Thanks!

hi Dianne,

There are two common causes:

1.) There was a bug in Access 2003, installing the latest SP solves it.
2.) Some anti-virus programms are blocking here some functionality. Try
linking your tables with a deactivated AV.

Thanks,

Tried both - no anti virus running and loaded Office SP3 - same problem -
when ODBC database file type is selected I just get returned to Access.

Does it happen if you query an ODBC Database in Excel as well?
Sounds to me that your ODBC Driver Files are screwed
Try to reinstall MDAC 2.8 & possibly the new SQL Server 2005 Native driver
