Occasional disconnect because I am being signed in at another loca

Is it possible that this happens because someone is using a computer that was
stolen from me? The computer was setup to login to messenger at startup. Is
anyone aware of a similar problem? Is it possible to determine where the
other computer is located?

Any help or ideas will be appreciated. I am running Windows Xp Home and
using Messenger 4.7 (4.7.3001)

Greetings Jim,

Well there's a few possibilities. For instance, if you have both Windows Live Messenger
installed and Windows Messenger 4.7, and are using Windows Live Messenger, Windows Messenger
can log up and log in without your knowledge in the background.

However, we'll assume that's not the case here. Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do
to track this person down, beyond making a new account, adding yourself and getting them to
expose their IP address to you (by file transfer or some other method). Microsoft won't
release any of this info without police intervention, so if it really has been stolen I
suggest you go for that route.

Or if you're not doing that and simply want this to stop, I suggest you login to your Windows
Live ID at http://account.live.com and change your password so the can no longer login on
your account.
