obtaining a xp disc under the same licence

I am trying to reinstall windows xp but the disc has got
a scrach on, meaning i cannot reinstall.

How will i obtain a new disc without paying for the
licence again as i got it with the computer?

i have a bunch of free cd;s and it sure takes a lot to
scratch one. contact microsoft

If you know someone with the same version, have them burn you a copy.

If it came with the PC, then replacement and support comes from the PC
manufacturer. Contact them.

Thanks everyone, don't know anyone with a copy so i shall
get in touch with the computer shop tomorrow...
Do you think it will be free or will i have to pay, (my
computer was out of its year guarrentee in june but i
dont know if the one year applys to the operating system.

Was thinking of downloadin myself a copy off kazaa?
good/bad idea?

Chris, even if it was still under warranty I don't think that they would
give you a replacement cd for free. It got scratched and I don't think it
was their fault. I wouldn't bother with Kazaa.

They probably will charge you a nominal sum, like $10.
