Objects between text and shading?

Is it possible to place an object (eg picture or text box) between the
shading z-position and the text z-position? I want to place a watermark of
sorts inside a particular cell of a table, but that cell is shaded. If I set
the object to "Behind Text", it goes behind the shading as well.

I've tried removing the shading and coloring the background of a picture to
match, but the cell margins prevent this image from filling the whole cell.
Any other thoughts?

I think that was a good approach -- now you only need to shrink the
picture a bit.
