Object Picker Nag

I was wondering if anyone might have any suggestions for
me re. an object picker nag/:

"Object Picker cannot open because locations from which to
choose objects could be found."

I have tried resolving through two possible solutions
exampled in KB263231 and KB284914.

I have also tried checking registry; I was unable to
perform system file checker to diagnose any potential
system file damage - due to incompatible OS software
version - I made Service Pack updates to the win 2000 OS -
the system file checker prompts for the original cd-rom
version spk1 and says the cd is wrong

I am able to add security members on folders from the
server itself as an administrator as well as most of the
clients on the network, but am having trouble with adding
objects from two client stations.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry for duplicate post-

First, make sure the admin shares are shared on the machine.

Check out this article- it says it is a slightly different error- they are
in the same code path and the same reasons could cause either error:

Thanks Aimme.

I needed to add DNS server Addresses in order of use.

Stupid little oversight.

Saved much grief.
