O2K won't close (me, too).

This has never happened before to me in all of six years!

I have Win98SE, O2K in Workgroup mode.

I've been over the archives in last week and have tried several
things.

I started O2K in safe mode but still hangs and won't close.

As per the msgs, I went into the add-ins and disabled everything but
that hasn't helped. I had tried the Reminder Manager add-in in the
previous installation and I think that may be the culprit but after
disabling all add-ins, not sure. This is a recent, 3 weeks
installation, and I've been living with the problem all this time. I
had tried the Reminder Manager but didn't like it as there were some
glitches that I couldn't seem to overcome so I'm not using it.
However, the outcmd.dat or one of the other backup files seem to think
it's still there, so before disabling add-ins, it was telling me the
Reminder Manager dll or something wasn't present. I thought for sure
that that was at the root of this problem but now not so sure. I'm
going to reboot now to see if that helps (reboot didn't help).

When I close O2K, I get that small rectangle with the Outlook icon
saying "Please wait while Microsoft exit.". That never goes away and
I have to force it to shut down via tasks.

I found reference re the av software, of course, but I don't know how
to do what the msg said re the email scanner. What's weird is that
I've been using AVG for a couple of years now with no difficulties
before with regards to O2K, so don't know if it's necessarily the
cause, but willing to try anything.

Still having this problem. I'm going to do yet another search in the
archives but hoping someone here could help me pinpoint what to look
for as so far, don't know why I can't close. Tx.
