Nvidia Error...nview.dll

Hi all, I NEED HELP !!!
Since I updated to SP2 service pack... i'm getting 2 different errors at
startup.
error loading...
nview.dll and nwiz.exe
1. will give info and refers me to Nvidia for update drivers. The other
gives me no info.
When going to the site I discovered that I have no idea what drivers I need
to fix this problem... because where I should find info in my device manager
under display adapters, it lists something completely different from what
they say I should have if I had Nvidia. Because its not listed there I did
searches for Geforce and several other keywords, that I found on their site
and found nothing on my computer. So I can't update any drivers without
knowing what I need or if its safe to download the drivers if its the wrong
adapter, in case I have something different already installed. Any ideas?

secondly... do I really need it? Can I uninstall it, just to get rid of the
startup error? Is it something that has to be installed. Because I can't find
it in any of my folders, hidden or unhidden folders, except the add/remove
programs folder and thats shows no info as to its size or any other info.
Could this have been installed by spyware or adware, drive by downloads?

You could always look at the brouchures that came with it, or look at the
motherboard itself for a nvidia graphics card or nvidia chips on the motherboard
itself.

And secondly... do I really need it?

Well, if you want to utilise the features that an NVidia card is used for. eg
High res screen with high refresh rates to reduce flicker. If you want to play
any 3D games or perhaps use TV/DVI out, then yes you need it.

Can I uninstall it, just to get rid of the startup error?

Most likely. You would then revert to using the standard VGA perhaps, which is
not optimal. If it were me, I'd download the newest driver package and install
it. You are best to uninstall the old drivers first though.

Usually it comes as a single .exe installer file on a drivers CD or downloaded
from nvidia.com

You have no use for high resolution, high refresh rates, 3D acceleration or
TV/DVI out?

O.k. Before I jump ship....let me try this one last time... under device
hardware...devices adapters... it lists S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR and nothing
else...
If I had a Nvidia video card, would that be found here? Because Nvidia is a
display issue. Right? Are these the same things? Just different brands of
display adapters?

You know ever since the SP2 download crazy things like my firewall and virus
program turn off by themselves, or fail to load... which I linked to too many
things trying to load at startup and crashed because the errors for nview.dll
and nwiz.dll took over, I think I will jump the SP2 update ship and go back
to smooth sailing before SP2. Thank god I ran virus checks, spyware scans and
system restore point before the download, even defrag and check disk for
errors... or I'd be in super big trouble, because I never had any problems
till this week, with these things, and only after the SP2 download.

O.k. after hours of research and downloading the nvidia online and still
getting errors afterwards, I discovered I didn't need it and uninstalled it,
in add/remove programs folder. Now I don't have any problems. What I found
and will be helpful for all, is you must uninstall it first, before you even
update or reinstall it.
I also discovered that several programs like Media Player 9 includes the
Nview program and even installs it, even when you don't need it on your
computer. So run a system restore point before you remove it. Then remove
the Nvidia program and restart. Then run your computer for a few days, to see
if you run into any problems, if you do, install the Nvidia program at
www.nvidia.com.
