Hello again,
I come back with same problem: NVIDIA display drivers.
I get that error on installation. Is someone here that know the dependencies
for the installation of the package?

Sincerly,

I'm also having problems with a NVIDIA display driver. The problem seems to
be more than a component issue; I can't get the driver to load properly off
the CD, which implies a dependency issue.

Here's some additional information:

NVIDIA display controller under WinXPpro (from setupapi.log):
#I063 Selected driver installs from section [nv4_C77] in
"d:\drivers\chipset\1808_xp32\display\nv4_disp.inf".

successfully.

Under XPe:
#I063 Selected driver installs from section [nv4_C77] in
"e:\drivers\chipset\1808_xp32\display\nv4_disp.inf".
#I320 Class GUID of device remains: {4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

#E275 Error while installing services. Error 2: The system cannot find the

#E154 Class installer failed. Error 2: The system cannot find the file
specified.

Here's the [nv4_C77.Services] section:
[nv4_C77.Services]
AddService = nv, 0x00000002, nv4_Generic_Service_Inst, nv4_EventLog_Inst
AddService = NVSvc, 0x00000000, nv_NVSVC_Inst
DelService = nvarch
DelService = nvgfx

[nv_NVSVC_Inst]
DisplayName = %NVSVC.name%
Description = %NVSVC.desc%
ServiceType = 16 ; SERVICE_WIN32_OWN_PROCESS
StartType = 2
ErrorControl = 1 ; SERVICE_ERROR_NORMAL
ServiceBinary = %11%\nvsvc32.exe

Now nvsvc32.exe is definitely in \windows\system32\, so it must be some
other file. However, I ran the install with filemon running, and I can't
see anything that would be a showstopper.

Any ideas on what may be missing in the image to cause this sort of error?

Thanks,
Dean

I've got a build that works fine with nvidia drivers. Can you email me
your build log, and I'll see if I can spot any obvious missing
components.

Someone suggested that I remove

"AddService = NVSvc, 0x00000000, nv_NVSVC_Inst"

so I commented it out of the INF and the driver loaded without further
problems.

I didn't know what nvsvc32.exe did, so the thought of removing it didn't
occur to me.

Good to see you back, Heidi. I thought perhaps you'd moved on to bigger and
better...

Thanks,
Dean

No, just... busier. They're trying to push me into managament, and
being back in here is my way of starfishing myself in the doorway.
