nvidia and maxtor a bad combo

I read this in a past issue of MaximumPC. The DiamondMax10 performed great
on the Silicon Image 3114 but SI doesn't have compatible Vista drivers.

Why can't Vista use the existing drivers?

HDD don't ever need drivers. Are you talking about controller drivers?

The Maxtor disks seem invisible on the nividia chip set whether alone or in
raid. "No info on hard drives..." is what comes up unless there a Western
Digital drive.
