NUMEROUS ACCUMULATION OF FILES NAMED FOUND..XXX

N

NORMAN MOSS

THESE FILES KEEP ACCUMULATING AND ARE NOW CLUTERING UP MY
C DIRECTORY (FOUND.000-FOUND.056 AT LAST COUNT) AND THEY
JUST KEEP COMING. THEY CONTAIN OTHER FILES WITH A .CHK EXT
AND ARE SAID TO 'CONTAIN FILE FRAGMENTS'. IF I TRY TO
DELETE THEM I GET THE MSG 'DELETEING COULD CAUSE DAMAGE'.
WHAT ARE THEY AND WHAT GENERATES THEM? CAM I SAFELY DELETE
THEM?

Norman,

First of all - STOP SHOUTING! It is considered rude and in poor taste to
post to any NG in all caps! This is like shouting. Probably not going to
get any useful replies in this format.

Secondly, this really does not seem to be Windows 2000 Active Directory
related. I might suggest that you post this problem ( and, please, not all
upper case ) to the WIN2000 General NG.

I might suggest that you look in the Event Logs to see if there is anything
that sticks out ( right-click My Computer, select 'Manage' and underneath
the System Tools you will see the Event Viewer. There will be at least
three logs there... ).

HTH,

Cary
