Numeric pad does not work

I have just got a new computer with XP Home and the numeric keys on the
number keypad do not work (numeric switched on or off makes no difference it
just squeaks at me). The numbers along the top of the keyboard are OK.
Can anyone help me fix this?

If you just got the computer, contact the vendor. They'll fix it under your
warranty.

What I actually got was a computer from a PC shop that they put togethe
for me and they are being less than helpfull. I thought that I would b
quicker fixing it myself. Has anyone heard of this problem? and yes th
number lock is on.

Sounds like a bad keyboard. Take the computer and keyboard back to the shop
and tell them to fix it.
