Numbers corrupted in Text fields

I think I have just found a fault in Excel 2007.

I copied a some text in to a cell. The text consisted of 6 numbers, a space
and then 10 numbers - 547353 9000393821

I then changed the format of the cell from General to Text and using
‘replace’ removed the space, Excel then puts it as a number to the power of -

I then F2 the field and enter to change it back to all characters and the
last digit changes to a 0 - 5473539000393820

2 Interesting points with this:-

1) If I F2 in to the original field and manually delete the space it doesn’t
go to the e number and doesn’t corrupt the last digit.
2) If I try the same with a 15 digit number it’s OK

I think that limitation of max 15 digit number remained in XL2007!
