Numbered Outline question

Hello. I am using Word 2000 and have this question. How can I make my
numbered outline line up by the period after the number instead of the first
number. Once my list goes to double digits, it looks wacky. I want 0 in the
number 10 to line up with the nine and I want the 1 going to the left. Like
a decimal tab. Where can I change this? I tried changing it on the ruler on
top, didn't work. When I go into customize for the outline, the only number
position options I'm given are left, center and right. Please help!!
