Number of copies carried across from previous jobs

When printing, word 'remembers' the setting for the number of pages to print
from a previous print-job. So if a previous print-job was for 10 copies, a
subsequent print-job (even from a different document) will have the value 10
filled in in the print-menu and unless I change it, I remember to change it
back to 1, I get 9 copies that go straight into the bin. How can I get Word
to always use 1 as the default for number of copies?

This is evidently something outside Word, as Word out of the box always
defaults to one copy.

Jop,

I'm not sure Suzanne has thought of the advanced settings so try this:
- go to 'settings' and 'printers and faxes' (you may need to have MS Word
open as well)
- select the printer you are having difficulty with
- click on the left hand side of the window 'set printer properties'
- depending on your printer you should then be able to adjust your default
settings including the number of pages that each document is defaulted to in
Word.

I hope this helps. Mark

Printer Properties would, I think, come under the heading of "something
outside Word."
