NUMBER INPUTS

G

Gary Thomson

Hi,

I have my cell settings set to the Accounting system,
which lines up the decimal point very nicely.

However, when I input negative numbers, I want to keep
using the Accountancy system (i.e. have the decimal point
lined up), but when I input negative numbers I want the
number to appear in RED, with BRACKETS surrounding the
number AND the pound sign, and for there to be NO NEGATIVE
SIGN appearing.

Is there a way, using the CUstom settings, to do this?

I can get my negative entries to be displayed in the above
fashion, but not to also have the ACCOUNTING formats. How
do I do this??

Many Thanks,

Gary Thomson.

You can do this by using conditional formatting:

1. Goto Format
2. Conditional formatting
3. set sell value is less than or equal to 0 then set the
format as you like - what ever color

I am not sure about the brackets or the pound sign.
Hope this helps.

Format>Style. Select Accounting from drop-down and "Modify".

You can get the desired formatting for this Style.
