NTVDM error on start up

I need some help. When i start up my computer, i log in,
but during start up, an ms dos windows opens. After a
bit, The End Program pop up come up to tell me that it
needs to close now. On top of that window, this pop up
comes up:

The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. |

application." |

Can anyone please please help me out? I dont know what
this is and what to do!!! Please please if anyone can
help, as i had had this for quiet some time.
