Hi vpenoso,
They contain uninstall information for each installed hotfix (from the
WindowsUpdate site). They are not necessary for normal operation, they are
there in case you need to uninstall a hotfix (perhaps one has caused a
conflict for you). If you are happy with the updates, you can simply delete
the folders. I suggest you wait about a month after installing for each one,
just in case.
After deleting, go to the Control Panel/Add & Remove and select that hotfix
for removal. You will get an error message followed by a prompt to remove
the hotfix from the listing. You can automate this whole process with a tool
from
www.dougknox.com under the WinXP Utilities.
