Just out of curiosity, do you do a Google search or any other sort of
research before posting a question to a newsgroup? Your question is a common
one that's been answered numerous times in the past. That said, here's my
take on the situation.

Those folders are created when an update, hotfix or service pack for Windows
is installed.

As long as you're satisfied that you will not have to uninstall the update,
you can delete any of the folders that are named similar to
$NtUninstallKBXXXXXX$ as well as$NtServicePackUninstall$ in the C:\Windows
folder. It's usually a good idea to wait a few weeks before deleting the
folders. Another option is to copy them to a CD or DVD just in case they're
ever needed. Personally, I recommend leaving them in place unless you're
running short of hard drive space and moving to a larger hard drive is not
an option.

Note: Do not delete the $hf_mig$ folder. Windows Update uses this folder
during future updates.

Take a look at this article for more info.

What are the $NTUninstall folders? Can they be deleted?

For an automated solution to this issue, take a look here.

Good luck

Hey Nepatsfan, thanks a lot & yes, I do, as I did yesterday for another
issue, but I usually get lost in the more technical info.; my reason for
Posting here as it's more in everyday language, for me at least.

And thanks for the reply & I will look at the links & no, not really
needing the space currently, just curious if I needed them, what they are &
if they may be causing any tech issues.

So what do you do w/ Cassell ? Play or trade ? I ask as I know he won't be
happy being a back up any longer, when TB returns & it's never 100% he won't
have returning knee issues.

Fair enough. You might want to point out in any future questions you may
post that you did some basic research but are looking for clarification.
Doesn't hurt to let people know you've put some effort into it before
posting.

When space is not a factor I'm inclined to leave those folders alone.
They're hidden folders that are in a location that most user would only
access occasionally.

Right now I'd say it's 50/50 what the Patriots do with Cassell. I doubt that
it will be based solely on Brady's health.

If they put the franchise tag on Cassell it will be for two reasons; Trade
him to a team that will give them at least a second round draft choice and
keep him from signing with the NY Jets. I'd be surprised if Cassell is still
on the roster in April, I'll be shocked if he's their starting QB in
September.

thanks but if I found all my answers elsewhere, what would you all do ?!
Kidding as I didn't realize it was a big deal - in fact, never even thought
of it.

If you're looking for more accessible answers, instead of searching the
Web, you can try searching archived newsgroup posts. If there is someone
whose style you like, you can narrow it down to posts by a particular
author. Example:

Go to Google and click on "more", then "Groups." Enter the following
info in the top box:

$NtUninstallKB94015$ author:Nepatsfan

That's just an example. (I know there was only one hit! Must've been a
typo) Here's another:

$NtUninstallkb author:"shenan stanley"

Or if those results are too narrow, nix the author filter:

$NtUninstallkb

(Since the KB number isn't important, there is no need to include it.)

Don't search "all groups." Search "Google Groups."
