NTLDR , press cntl alt del to reboot at bootup blackscreen...uh oh

So I downloaded Windows XP Home Edition SP2 floppy boot disk utility and
wrote the floppys but the installation stopped on the second Floppy Disk.
What could be wrong...I've been looking a wee bit to find out what I can do
but I'm tired and I just have to go to bed. Any sort of hint as to what to do
will be much appreciated...somehow...thankyou...I will look back in about 12
hours...nightie night...yawn...

About 5 minutes ago I realised most of what I have written below is mainly
what I remembered what hppened before the NTLDR message on the black scren at
bootup so if you want to read go ahead...

....I was experimenting with Nero BackItUp and made a backup series of DVD
for a 2 Sata harddrive computer. The whole restore process took about 5 or 6
hours and stopped at the Windows XP Home Edition SP2 Welcome screen and I
left it that way for 15 minutes, maybe longer, I'm not sure now, then I gave
up on it and tried to reinstall Windows. I think that restore process left
some sort of boot files on the hardddrive or maybe I thought the change from
the RAID setup I had going ok for quite a while remained on the harddrive, or
both or...???.
I think the harddrive was corrupted. I also have Farstones Virtual DrivePro
11.5 and all its files were not loaded into a single folder in drive C where
I installed it to. They were scattered through C: drive.
Rather than try to figure where to put each of the files I tried to
uninstall VDPro 11.5 and that is when all the files seemed to disappear.,
initially from the desktop.
Then Windows gave me the opportunity to replace certain KB's but I sort of
panicked and closed that window...wrong move huh...Windows neds to replace
....files...message.

Toss the xp floppy disks out the window...1st,xp does not copy very well with
its security software.2nd, you'll never get a RAID set to copy to or from
another
hd (IDE or other RAID set).Copy youre user files by running FTW from the xp
cd
then put on a cd,rerun FTW after new install. As far as xp OS set-up goes, boot
to xp cd,press F6 to install RAID drivers, then continue on with installation.

....that post may have appeared to long, which is why put the"5 minutes
ago..." bit in it.
Anyhow, I had downloaded Seagates DiskWizard a week ago onto another
computr which does work, and DiskWizard allows burning itself to a CD which I
did and I could boot from a CD.
So now I'm doing a thorough format, a seagate harddrive totally thorough
harddrive wipe nonetheless, and I will do both harddrives in that computer
then I will reinstall Windows XP Home Edition SP2...thankyou...you are
welcome...

....no replies 'til now and...gidday Andrew. I have done away with the Sata
Raid, I didn't try any copying of a Sata Raid set...I think I didn't...I had
2 Sata harddrives as 2 single harddrives.
I'm just about sold on the Disk Wizard, it seems to be ding an incredibly
thorough job...I hope it is, I want to try a full backup and restore later
though I am a bit unsure I want to try the restore just yet.

file transfer wizard..oh...Windows did ask for the CD just when the icons
began disappearing from the desktop. I feel I have done a good thing now
anyway by doing a complete harddrive wipe with Seagate Disk Wizard. It seems
to me if a harddrive is going to keep loads of old junk on it no matter what
you do to it gving it a total wipe for hours on end is got to be good for it.

umwhat

GREAT! ...a successful format of 9 hours...by gee it must have been
thorough, and the computer is faster than ever before.

May I recommend Seagates

Disk Wizard.
