While installing Windows XP Home on a new computer, Ihad an IRQ conflict during a new install. I of course didn't write the error codes down. It was the first time for the error, so I stopped and restarted the computer. After the CMOS did its thing, the system said NTLDR missing. It asked me to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. I still keep getting the NTLDR is missing. What should I do next? I guess it is what I get for trying to do it myself.

Try removing all your PCI cards and disconnect all your devices that are
not necessary for the install.
Use the XP CD to delete, create and format a new partition(s). Then
start over. This is a good
Resource.

Hi

Boot with your XP CD in the cd drive. Select 'To repair..' by pressing 'R'.
When in the Recovery Console type the following:

"copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\" - without the quotes. Where X is the letter of
your CD drive and C is the letter of your system drive. Take the XP CD out
of the cd drive, type Exit and then reboot into XP normally - Ctrl-Alt-Del
to reboot.

Thanks for the info Rich. The system won't allow the CD to do anything. The problem shows up after the DMI pool is verified. Immediately after the Cntrl+Alt+Del is a cursur to enter info, but I can't do anything. The only card I have installed is a video card. The mother board has everything else integrated on it. The IRQ conflict occurred before XP was even installed. It had formatted my drive, and did a copule other things then gave the IRQ error. Is there a way that I can get it to allow me to format the drive and start over?

Hello Will,

The computer won't even let me do the repair. Please see my post in response to Rich. Thanks. I appreciate the help from everyone.
