ntldr missing

I've fixed this in the past but I can't seem to remember how it was done.
arrgh!
When rebooting after the bios it comes up with ntldr missing and to ctl alt
del to restart. This does not work and I have to shut down the power and it
will start right then. Somebody please help save my brain!
