NTLDR is missing

repair/reinstallation of XP will fix up the problem.

or, you may use recovery console to fix the problem.

boot XP CD, run the Recovery Console and from the command prompt, run:

Copy X:\I386\ntldr C:\

remove the CD and restart the machine.

Hi,

How did you try to recover?

The simplest solution is to boot the WinXP CD, hit "r" to load the Recovery
Console, then from the command prompt run "copy X:\I386\ntldr C:\" (X is
whatever drive letter is assigned your CD drive, change it accordingly, this
assumes a default installation to C, if the boot files are installed
elsewhere change that accordingly as well).

First make sure there is no non-boot floppy in the disk drive. That
will also cause this error.
