Got a little minor problem. Got a new PC running on Win XP Home Edition.
After installing a few programs and restarted. Got the message NTLDR IS
MISSING, PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART....tried a few times but the same message
kept popping up. Tried CTRL/ALT/DEL and managed to restart but had to get in
thru Boot Menu. Did some search on the topic and honestly the resolution is
much too technical for a non-techie like me.

Any experts out there can offer me the simplest and easier way to resolve
this matter?

Mattboy, I have just thought of, maybe, a somewhat simpler alternative, but
it does rely upon you having a floppy disk drive on your PC. The suggestion
is to create an Emergency Startup Disk for XP (again visit my website
http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org. Click the Win XP Faq button and look at
question 10). Obviously, because you are unable to access your system you
are not, unless you have access to another XP machine, going to be able to
copy the files required for the Emergency Startup Disk to a floppy disk.
However, once the floppy disk has been created you should be able to boot to
your XP desktop and then you will be able to copy the NTLDR file over to
your C: drive (probably better to copy the NTDETECT file over too.

If you can't access another PC with XP on it to grab the file for the floppy
drive email me direct, using the details on the Contact tab of my website
and i'll forward the relevant files. All you then have to do is copy them to
a floppy and see if the floppy will boot you to your XP desktop. If this
works ok (it does on my system) the only other thing you have to do is copy
the NTLDR and NTDETECT file to your C: drive and you should be able to boot
directly into XP. If the Emergency Startup Disk works ok it is advisable to
keep it to hand just in case you need it again.
