If a new Computer has XP with a downloaded Win2kpro NTFS, can the 20gb
drive be converted to FAT32 Win2kpro only??? I have a separately
purchased Win2kpro program for re-installation if necessary... Could
there be a problem with drivers???

"Downloaded WinXP Professional"? No such thing!
Furthermore, while there are slight differences in NTFS
between Win2000 and WinXP, each OS will happily
access NTFS partitions created by the other.

To convert a partition from NTFS to FAT, you need
a third-party tool such as PQMagic. Alternatively, you
can do a fresh installation. When prompted, allow the
disk to be re-partitioned and reformatted.

My reference was:
http://www.mpccorp.com/smallbiz/store/config.html?config=1258335

Operating system: 3rd tab:
"Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP pro w/SP2 and 2000 Download (3000series)"

Additional OS: 2nd tab:
"NTFS Download for Windows2000"

Thanks for the information

It's a misprint, placed there by the sales boys. They meant "downgrade",
not "download", and the term "NTFS" should not be there at all. All
versions of Win2000/XP support NTFS.
