NTFS Permissions questions...

Hi all,

I'm currently working on my MCSA (2k3) I'm having some trouble
understanding the NTFS permissions. Could someone point me towards a
resourse that really breaks it down, something like "NTFS Permissions for
Dummies" Although there is no such book in the Dummies Series. LOL I'm
about halfway through the 290 material now.

in the Windows 2000 or the XP reskit docs.

I appreciate the post Roger but nothing I found really talks about NTFS
permissions. what I found strange is that Windows Server 2003 is not even
mentioned.

The following links are pretty good if you have not seen them also. They are
for XP but if you disregard the part about simple file sharing Windows 2003
is the same with the exception that in Windows 2003 you can use the GUI via
Windows explorer to grant ownership to user/group. --- Steve

There really isn't an NTFS Permissions for dummies or more accurately Access
Control Model for dummies as the same model is used for securing all Windows
kernel securable objects. However, the MSDN docs on the subject start here
