NTFS boot slowdown

I recently switched from FAT32 to NTFS using the
convert.exe utility. All is well other than boot up and
shutdown have slowed down considerably. Your thoughts as
to what's going on will be appreciated. Thanks- Jim H.

It's normal. NTFS is a slower file system unless your volumes are large.
Also, I think convert yields 8k clusters that are slower than the default 4k
ones with a clean format. NTFS is worth the extra security though.

After conversion it is important to run defragmentater - straight off
and again once a week for two or three more weeks
