NTDETECT failed (XP Professional)

I get this message "NTDETECT failed" when i start the laptop and keeps
rebooting.

Any help

Hi Vasu,

It means that for whatever reason ntdetect.com either is corrupted or could
not read the system hardware. Without this latter information, the system
will not load (and is why it reboots). Load the Recovery Console, copy a new
ntdetect.com from the I386 folder to the root of the system drive (usually
C:\).

You can also use the boot floppy set for this one as long as you know where
the I386 folder is on the hard drive:
