NTBackup with Volume Shadow Copy hangs on WinXP

The ntbackup program hangs when the volume shadow copy
option is enabled. I did not have this problem before, I
therefore suspect that one of the automatically installed
windows update is the cause. I reviewed the recently
installed updates but none mention any implication
concerning ntbackup. I also reviewed the newgroup but
didn't see anything refering to problems with the volume
shadow copy option.
I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 with all XP update
installed.

Am I the only one with this "unique" problem?

And does any one of you have the faintest idea what the
cause is and how to resolve it?
