NTBackup to CD/RW

I'd like to use NTBackup to backup data to a CD/RW disk.

I realize that I would first need to format the CD/RW disk. Then schedule
NTBackup to create the backup file daily ( I know how to do this), but I'd
like NTBackup to rename the file each time, preferably with a name that
represents the date. This way I have a series of daily backups all listed by
date created on the CD/RW.

There must be a script to allow one to do this.

(I cannot afford an alternate software package, ((writer/ actor)) so no
alternate suggestions please)

XP's rudimentary CD Recording program does not permit backing up
directly to a CD. You must create a new folder on your hard drive, perform
a backup to that folder, then record the contents of that folder to a CD.

THANKS
OK. Lots to look at. Thanks for all the info.

Looks like I need to create a BU folder, have NTBackup create the file.
Then move to CD/RW.
Can NTBackup rename the file every time?

1. The inbuilt burning does not work in the 'packet mode' as used on
CD-RW and does not support output from programs (and does not involve
prior formatting of disks) . You would need one of third party packages
like InCD or Direct CD

2. In any case NT Backup does not support CD as it is a removable device
- it only knows of Tape and floppy drives.
