ntbackup error

I get the following error when try to back up my W2K
workstation to my external USB drive. The external USB
drive is 40G & and my HD is only 30.

Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe you should be more selective in your choices for backup. I for
instance never backup WinNT whereas I am very sure to back up the
Systems Volume Information. Most of the rest is backed up. Naturally
all services are shut down, internet, virus scanner and firewall.

Reason for never backing up Winnt is that when troulbe strikes I
format and reinstall windows as the first item - then I restore - I
then have a clean computer.

Is the USB drive formatted as FAT32? If so there is a 4 gig limit on
file size.
