What can I do??, uninstall backup and re-installed again ? or use another
tool to backup files.

Please help me out thank in advance!!!

Some times NTBackup does currupt files, this can occuring even more when
backing up across a network, and the larger the file is - try to kept it
around 5gb

Even if you run the backup with verfy on, it will check ok - but you just
cannot open it via NTBackup. Best thing to do is very time the backup runs,
is to open it and restore some data to check it is ok.

If you need the data in the corrupt backup file, it will cost you. There are
a number of companies that will recover them for you at a cost. e.g.
http://www.officerecovery.com/msbackup/ (use google and search for bkf
recovery)

This is nonsense. I've backed up more than 200GB using
NTBackup across networks for years without problems. And
I've many times successfully restored files from the backups
so I know that they worked.

As you have been using NTbackup for years, why dont you answer the question
of why the files are becoming corrupt! I would like to know the answer as
well..

I have been using NT backup for years as well, I have have had large backups
which worked ok. But.. every now and again they will become corrupt! and the
only way I have found to get a reliable backup is to keep the size small. any
suggestions then??

Also could you answer this one?

From the technet article you quoted:
"This problem is likely due to faulty hardware."

Do you reuse tapes? Do you use cleaning tapes on schedule?
How old is the hardware? I've had to chuck out tape drives
and tapes but this always cured my problems.

Cliff

Hi Cliff

Thank you for your responce. Nop, not using a tape device at all, backing up
the system state to file on a different hard drive.

Cheers
