NT Unable to see 2K shares

In a mixed domain I have NT workstations mapping drives
to a 2000 server.

The server recently needed a reeboot and since then the
NT machines have been unable to access these shares.

The permissions are all fine and I can ping the server
from the workstations but access is denied when I try
to access the shares.

All XP and 2K machines can access the shares no problem.

The problem is only with the NT boxes

We run a 2003 server as our domain controller and a net
use command returns a 'System Error 53' message.
