NT Workstations unable see 2000 server

In a mixed domain I have NT workstations mapping drives
to a 2000 server.

The server recently needed a reeboot and since then the
NT machines have been unable to access these shares.

The permissions are all fine and I can ping the server
from the workstations but access is denied when I try to
access the shares.

Any ideas?

Couple of questions to clarify things.
Are other clients (xp, 2k, etc) able to connect and it is only the nt boxes
that can't?
Please post the exact error msg they get when trying to connect as this will
help. Is it just a plain access denied, unable to access, etc as these mean
different things.
Are they able to net view to that server and at least see the shares.
You have nt clients accessing a 2k server, but is the domain an nt4 domain
or win2k domain.
What was changed/added/configured/etc on the 2k server since the last time
it was rebooted.
thanks

All XP and 2K machines can access the shares no problem.

The problem is only with the NT boxes

We run a 2003 server on our domain controller and a net
use command returns a 'System Error 53' message.

Thanks
