Nt server not authenticating

I ran adprep /forestprep to prepare my forest for windows
2003 domain controllers. After I did that my NT server
machine cannot authenticate with my windows 2000 domain
controller. The nt server has SP 6a.

Have you joined that server to the domain? Got WINS installed on the
W2K-server? NT4 still needs it.
