NT Loader fail

i want to install winXP pro from hard disk. I copied all
files in i386 in WinXP cd to hdd with same folder name.
Then I boot with the win98 cd and enter in d drive i386
folder and typed WINNT to start install. It copies the
file during installation and after first reboot it says NT
loader fail. what's the problem? any ideas?
 
Did you copy the boot loader files onto the hard drive? Should be
boot.ini, ntldr, ntdetect.com, bootsect.dos and cmldr.
