Cannot copy files

Frank H Hansen

I am doing a reinstall of my XP system, but the istallation fails when it
shall copy files to the disk fromthe E:\i386 folder on the CD. I can copy
from the cd manally(Shift F10). And I have made a copy of the i386 folder on
C:\.
Copying from that folder gives the same result so it must be some problem
with rigths on the destination folder. Does anyone have a clue?

By windows default, youre hd with xp on it is C:,the only other drive
that should be installed during xp installation is youre cdrom,& by default
that is D: If the installation is looking for files from E:,then you need
to disconect
some hardware, otherwise whatever drive D: is,its probably going to get it
share of the installation files also.....Try booting to xp cd,recovery, type:
DiskPart See whats running,& w/o an OS installed, recovery will
run,disreguard
the text, just type at it screen...
