Not sure where else to post this - having no success on Google looking for
an answer.
I am attempting to test a restore of a Windows 2000 Server.
Server2000 SP4 all patched.
I backup the system using NT Backup to a file stored on the harddrive.
I then copy that file to a shared location and take this server off line
I then on identical hardware Install just a base Server 2000 install.
I then map to the shared location and attempt to run the backup from there.
I also have on occasion copied the fie to the local desktop and tried
running it there.
In either case - the restore fails.
It catalogues and sees all the files fine. I set it to restore overwriting
the files locally (drive configuration is the same).
The system gives me the warning about overwriting system state - then the
screen pauses - then a box comes up that says "Drive Not Responding"
What is not responding?
Nothing is in the event viewer related to this. Is there a way to increase
logging on the NT backup to see why it failed?
