due to RPC. what the??? I've never seen this before.
Any ideas??

our virus scan says we don't. any other ideas? Could I
have networked this computer wrong?

You may have the Blaster Worm Virus.

Step 1 - Disable the virus in memory.

Press the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys to open Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab, locate and highlight MSBLAST.EXE and click on
the End Process.

Step2 - Download Symantec Removal Tool

Go to www.symantec.com. On the left side of the window you
will see a section about the W32.BLASTER.WORM. Scroll down
to and click on Step 3: Download Removal Tool. Scroll down to
the Obtaining and Running the tool section of the page and
click on the link under 1. Download the FixBlast.exe file from:
(The link is http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBlast.exe)

Be sure to save it to a location so you can remember to open it tool.

Step3 - Disable System Restore Feature

Be sure you login with Admin privileges.
Right click on "My Computer", choose "Properties". Click System Restore tab
and (check) next to Turn off system restore on all drives. Click Apply and
then click OK.

Step 4 - Run the Removal Tool

Make sure you close all running programs before you run the
removal tool. Navigate to the downloaded fix tool folder, click the
FixBlast.exe tool.
When the process is finished, the removal tool will try to download a patch
from the
Microsoft Web site that will fix the flaw in Windows. You can also do this
yourself by following STEP 5.

Step 5 - Download Windows Patch

Go to www.microsoft.com. Click on the Downloads link located in the
Resources section on the left side of the page. Click on 4 to download the
XP patch . Download and save the file.

Double-click on the downloaded file follow instructions in the wizard that
opens. Your system will restart
when the patch is installed.

Step 6 - Turn System Restore back on

Go back to Step 3 and (uncheck) the box.

I have another idea--I think you must have had your head
up your poop chute for the last two months. Do a Google
search on W32.Blaster.Worm.
