NSIS Error Message???

Mary Ann

My first time to post so pleeeze help me out! When
attempting to download a game from Yahoo, I got a "NSIS"
window with the message, "The installer you are trying to
use is corrupt or incomplete. It could be the result of
a damaged disk, failed download or a virus. It may be
possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line
switch{NOT RECOMMENDED)" So.... I know its not a virus,
or at least I ran a scan and haven't found anything. I
know it wasn't a failed download, because what I was
downloading showed as completed. It was only when I
tried to install it that I got this message.
Anyone heard of this? I tried checking the site for
Windows but couldn't find anything. HELP!!

Hi

Umm first just cause the download completed dosent mean
that it isnt corrupt. maybee the server you downloaded it
of had a corrupt copy??? try download it again and see
what happens

damaged disk prob isnt likely but then agasin if you want
to check run a full scandisk and see what comes up

Virus well if you have the latest virus definitions and
you scannedand it came clean i guesse it is ok

my guess is that the download got interupted or was
corrupt.

Mary Ann,

I'm having the exact same problem. Have you found the solution yet? If so,
please share it with me.

Thanks,

I have had this error too and found this thread regarding it, i have come to
the conclusion that its down to a virus, even if your anti virus dont find
it, i used Panda virus scan (google) and scanned the whole system and it
found and healed the little runt. Then i suggest rebooting the computer and
then trying again.

Note. Make sure you turn off system restore (right click My Computer-
Properties) before u scan the pc, then scan the pc using a very gud anti
virus software and then when you reboot turn on the system restore.

Your NSIS error should be gone and you shud be able top download drivers etc
!!!

Thanks 3DCulprit,

I over came my problem several weeks ago. Unfortunately I don't remember
what I did; I tried so many things. For some reason I think the problem was
the program I was trying to install.
