Novell Client on Windows XP

It seems that when I setup a new Windows XP machine it is really fast until
I put on the Novell Client and then things begin to run slower. Does anyone
know of any issues the the Novell Client and is there anything I can do to
resolve this issue. Thanks!

Go to support at www.novell.com and search the knowledgebase.

Good luck on that. It's about as easy to find what you need there as it
is on MS's KB. You'll get 100 hits on stuff that has nothing to do with
what you want to know. Better to ask in the novell support forums.

According to Novell, Microsoft reverse-engineered the Novell client and
did a damn poor job putting it back together with MS written all over
it. In addition the MS client for Novell does not properly support NDS,
which is really stupid since AD is basically NDS MS-style.

It's part of the battle for customers. MS says they support Novell
connectivity then give a crappy client for that support, blame it on
Novell in an effort to win server customers over to Windows server. Of
course Novell blames MS in return for various things. But then, who doesn't?
