Notification Area Settings

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question;
the topics can be hard to decipher at times.

For some reason, the notification icons no longer work
correctly on my computer. Only 3 show up; others never
do, even though I have been into Properties to check how
they're marked (always hide, etc.). The notifications are
set to Hide Inactive Icons, but the arrow to access the
other programs isn't there. The programs tell me they're
running and need to be accessed from the taskbar, but no
can do.

What's going on & what do I do?

Thanks.

Hi Susan, Kelly has covered this area:

Notification Area - Icons Disappearing
This happens for most Auto-Logon users. To see what the three
methods/workarounds are visit the above site.

Notification Area - Hidden Chevron Missing
For some users setting the very first icon to Always Hide, restores the arrow.
This behavior seems to come into effect when one uses an icon on the System
Tray. Also be certain that the "behavior" of each of each icon is what you want
it to be. Right-click each, to make changes.

Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?
