Nothing works with Vista!!!!!!

Hi

It was a clean install. I even went out and bought a new IDE drive because
the when I tried to install it as an upgrade on my RAID drive, it wouldn't
work. I ran the adviser when I tried to do an upgrade and the only thing it
said was wrong was Zone Alarm, all the rest was OK.

This is Vista Home Premium and at this time there are over 300 problems
listed, they are either program incompatibility (these are the programs that
have been updated for Vista!!!) or program has stopped working.

I was checking some word documents yesterday and the word kept stopping when
I tried to open the documents, one doc took 4 tries to open it.

It's really frustrating. I was running RC2 and Beta Office 2007 on a laptop
that only had a 40GB HDD and 512 RAM and never had any problems with it at
all.

I tried to reply to this yesterday, but IE kept 'stopping', so I gave up.

I've uninstalled all but Nero Burning ROM and and it still doesn't work.
When I try to add files or MP3's to burn list it stops working

The same for PFD Convertor. It comes up with 'PDFcreatehook application has
stopped working'

However, I installed Office 2007 on my laptop which has XP, along with PDF
Convertor and Magix (PDF and Magix are Vista ready) and guess what, they all
work with no problems, no stopping and definitely no program incompatibilty!!!

Which, to me, proves that Vista is the real problem, not the programs or the
hardware!!!

Vista works like a charm for me, Even runs my old Paintshopro 7.04.
all my hardware works including my OKI 5150 color Laser and Spyder II
monitor Profiler Canon D1250uf scanner, Zboard gaming keyboard etc.

I am very happy with it, no BSODs or lockups, running since Feb 1st.

HMMMM let me tell you. I have had nothing but problems from one place to the
next. Vista does work fine. When you find or have downloaded all the drivers
you can think of that work for vista. I just about had to install a driver
for any new device I connected to my Pc. Which is with a badge marked "Vista
Capible" right on it. I have Nero 7 "enchanced version" and it will not burn
or encode HD t.v. signal correctly. The Video is off and the sound is late. I
have spent a considerable amount of money on upgrading to vista, and so far i
have not been able to do the "WOW" that I am supposed to see. Not even
"windows DVD maker" can correctly encode and convert a HDTV broadcast
recorded on the hard drive and burn it to dvd..


any ideas?

Well, I finally got Nero 7 working, but had to uninstall everything in the
program apart from Nero Burning Rom, I still couldn't burn an audio disk but
I could burn a data disk. By accident I decided to update the virus checker
that Nero has, and 'Lo & Behold', I can now burn an audio CD.

Still can't get Paperport 11 to load, the media centre doesn't like doing
anything, Word 2007, crashes everytime I try and open a document, still
haven't managed to update Raid drivers, something called 'winshipassert has
started to stop working as does reg helper and IE refuses to work on a
regular basis and the screen savers lock up.

But apart from that, I can at least get the PC to boot up, closing it down,
now there's another problem!!!

This is one of the most expensive and biggest mistakes I think I've made
installing this!!!!
