Notes Pages are missing slides

I am using Powerpoint 97, SR-2. I'm entering speaker notes, but some
of the slides in that view are missing. (Speaker note page for that
slide is completely blank). How can I get the notes pages to sync
back up? I've tried saving in various versions (4.0 gives errors),
cutting/pasting slide (works superficially but doesn't update when the
slide is changed), messing with the notes master, etc.

I've seen the bug with the notes disappearing and have turned off fast
save. I'm just trying to get back to square one.

Any advice?

Tom,

I've seen this bug on the original powerpoint (with no SR's applied).

You have fast saves turn off...this is good
You have applied SR-2 this is good

Do you always save the presentation while on "slide" view and not "notes"
view?

View, Notes Page
Format, Notes Layout
Put a check next to Reapply Master
Click OK
