Notepad is really only good for simple text...
as a minimum...at least try Wordpad.

Otherwise you will need the application or equiv. viewer for the type of
file you are trying to view

What kind of attachment is it? You will need the same program that created

What kind of file is it you are opening (what is the extension--the
last three characters of the file name, after the dot?)? Notepad can
only handle text files, and it sounds like you are trying to use it to
open something other than a text file.
